Marek Partyš is a Czech director and graduate of Film Studies and Journalism at Palacký University. He works primarily in commercial directing, for which he has received several major Czech awards, including ADC Czech Awards in the Film Craft category and Zlatý ohníček for Personality of Czech Creativity, as well as international recognition at Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio, Epica Awards and Ciclope Festival. In commercial directing, he is represented in the Czech Republic, the USA, the UK, Germany and France. He has also maintained a long-term collaboration with the non-profit organisation Post Bellum, for which he directs annual narrative campaigns. Smearhead marks his transition from award-winning commercial work into ambitious auteur cinema.
