Frederik Ehrhardt is a German-American producer and writer based in Lower Saxony, Germany, and New York. He began his career at New York production company 3DMC, working under Independent Spirit Award nominee Darren Dean as Post-Production Coordinator and Associate Producer.
In 2025, he founded Freud & Ecstasy, which develops co-productions across fiction and documentary, with an emphasis on diverse, underrepresented, and queer perspectives. The company recently received the HAVC & MIDPOINT Development Award at When East Meets West.
Current projects include Bálint Kenyeres’ The Gift, Pablo Pagán’s Estertor, Lina Lyte Plioplyte’s Women in Flux(us), and King Louie Palomo’s Aking Parol. Freud & Ecstasy productions have screened at Oscar-, BAFTA-, and Goya-qualifying festivals including Sitges, Raindance, HollyShorts, and Flickers’.
Frederik is an alumnus of MIDPOINT Focus Queer, Stowe Story Labs, CineStory, and the International Screen Institute Vienna.
