They Bloom at Dawn

After her grandfather’s death, Rosa’s mother forces her to stay in her grandparents’ village by Lake Prespa and be there for her grandmother, Jana. Jana is a ceramic artist resisting the destruction of her late husband’s archaeological site and their home by an approaching luxury resort development. At different thresholds of life, the two women are equally unsteady: Rosa stands at the edge of adulthood, while Jana faces the closing of a chapter she refuses to surrender. Through shared grief, and acts of resistance, they begin to see each other anew. As the fight to protect what they love unfolds, the film reveals coming of age not as a single passage, but as a continuous act of becoming, shaped by care, memory, and the land that holds them.
