When a disturbing incident in North Wales appears to echo the notorious “Welsh Roswell”, a troubled journalist becomes obsessed with exposing a conspiracy. But as his investigation turns a local mystery into a national story, he must confront the possibility that the conspiracy he thinks he’s exposing is one he’s helped create.
A protest against a luxury holiday development in Bala ends in chaos. Mysterious smoke rises from the woods, hundreds of birds flee and a generator explodes, injuring a child.
Journalist DYLAN MORGAN, desperate for a story that will restore his career, investigates. What he finds appears to echo a mysterious UFO incident in 1974, drawing national park warden LOWRI JONES into a mystery that engulfs her town.
When DYLAN publishes his theory, it attracts national attention. Outsiders descend on Bala, neighbours become suspects and even LOWRI’s son is caught up in the growing frenzy. But while DYLAN becomes obsessed with finding a conspiracy linking everything, LOWRI follows the evidence in a very different direction.
By the time the truth emerges, DYLAN and LOWRI have been pulled apart, and both must confront how much they got wrong.
