Spela Murenc Skulj
Špela Murenc Škulj graduated in film editing from the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (University of Ljubljana) in 2018. Since then, she has been actively working as a film editor on a wide range of projects, like the feature documentary SUMMER '91, (Žiga Virc, 2021), television series KAJ + ESTER FOREVER (Tosja Flaker Berce, 2025), short film KISMET (Žiga Virc, 2025) as well as the upcoming feature film GIRL IN THE NIGHT (Luka Marčetić). Alongside editing, she has always been deeply drawn to screenwriting, which led her to pursue a Master’s degree in screenwriting at the Academy, where she is currently finishing her studies. In 2023, the short film HOW I LEARNED TO HANG LAUNDRY, written by her and directed by Barbara Zemljič, premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival and was nominated for an EFA award for best short film. At present, she is developing her first feature length screenplay HOW TO LIVE IN A TREE, continuing to combine her editing experience with a growing passion for storytelling.
