Bucharest. Little Paris – as it was known 100 years ago, with its Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Bauhaus, and De Stijl buildings now in ruins. Periodically shaken by devastating earthquakes, the city's built environment undergoes major deterioration, and the authorities remain consistently indifferent. Historic buildings are on the brink of collapse, and everyone is anticipating the next major disaster - deemed inevitable by experts, one that could claim the lives of thousands.

Among the ruins of the interwar architecture she is passionate about, a young architect discovers a few buildings in excellent condition, a true miracle in her eyes. When she connects the mysterious disappearances of some government officials to these buildings that seem to rejuvenate suddenly, the architect uncovers an occult conspiracy whose ties stretch from the interwar period to the present day, and which centers around a macabre secret.
