Casus
A senior criminology student is faced with her own violent past when she interns as a social worker for households with domestic violence.
Casus is a character-driven ensemble drama set at the Family Justice Center (FJC) in Antwerp, where domestic violence is fought on the daily. At the heart of the story is Manu (25), a fiery criminology student who finds her way into the internship by unexpected means. In each episode, she follows a new case and discovers that help is not always wanted, and safety is often just an illusion. When she becomes obsessed with a closed case that hits painfully close to home, she is drawn into a moral quest that forces her to choose between rules and her own conscience. As Manu increasingly crosses the line, she challenges the worldviews of her team and forces them to question their own convictions. For at the FJC, law might practiced, but justice is never guaranteed. Casus is a hopeful, psychological series about violence behind closed doors, and the people who try to do right in a world where right and wrong no longer apply.
