Mariana Queiroz
Mariana Queiroz is a Brazilian filmmaker, screenwriter and producer based in Brussels. She co-runs Porto Bello Filmes, an independent production company founded in Rio de Janeiro by three women, working across film, theatre and hybrid formats. The company has four short films currently in distribution and two feature-length fiction films in post-production, The Law’s Version (A Versão da Lei) and The Mother’s Version (A Versão da Mãe), both co-written with Ninna Fachinello. Her practice draws on theatre, performance and decolonial feminist research, and she is currently exploring how AI tools can support development and production workflows for small, women-led companies working across borders. She is developing Syzygy (Sizígia), a feature-length science fiction screenplay.
