Dóra Jóhannsdóttir is a writer, director, producer, performer and speaker with 20+ years of experience in theatre, television and film. She holds a BFA in Theatre and an MA in Creative Writing. She is the creator, co-writer and executive producer of Húsó (The School of Housewives), winner of Best Script and Best Scripted Series at the Icelandic TV Awards and nominated for the Nordic Series Script Award in 2025. She co-wrote Stella Blómkvist 2, nominated for Best Script at the Edda Awards, and has twice served as head writer of Áramótaskaupið, Iceland’s iconic New Year’s Eve satire sketch show, directing it in 2022. The show won the Edda Award for Best Comedy TV Show in all three years. She founded Improv Iceland and the Improv School, and has delivered talks and workshops on improv, creativity and communication to 100+ organisations. Through Djók Productions, she is developing the feature film Uterus (Leg), based on the original musical by Hugleikur Dagsson.
