Bernando Lopes
Bernardo Lopes (1994, Lisbon) is a Portuguese director, screenwriter, and producer. His short films Lux, Ivan, Eva, and Moço have received multiple awards and international recognition, including a Sophia Award for Best Fiction Short Film and Best Director at the Chelsea Film Festival. Moço was also selected for Les Nuits en Or by the French Academy (César Awards). In 2021, he founded the production company Omaja, through which he produced Outskirts, Paralysis, Antigone, or the Tale of Sara Benoliel, and Fragmented (all combining exhibitions at Telluride FF, Riga IFF, Shorts México, Doha FF, San Francisco IFF, Toronto Palestine FF, among others)
He was selected for Locarno’s Match Me! in 2023, and for Ji.hlava Emerging Producers in 2025. He is currently finalising his first feature, Tomorrow’s Rain.
