Kristyna Plhonova

Kristýna joined MIDPOINT Institute in 2014 and has worked as a program coordinator since 2016. She currently manages Focus CZ, Editing Room, and a range of national MIDPOINT Intensive workshops.

As part of her role, she contributes to program development and curation, coordinates selection processes, and participates in the assessment of submitted film and audiovisual projects. Her work combines an understanding of creative development with practical knowledge of project presentation, professional training, and the needs of the contemporary audiovisual industry.
She also curates MIDPOINT Homecoming, an alumni initiative aimed at strengthening professional connections across MIDPOINT’s international network.

Kristýna previously worked in communications and production at MIDPOINT. Her professional background also includes journalism, film festivals, and project assessment. She studied at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University and has collaborated with the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival’s Festival Daily, Vltava Labe Media, Febiofest, Ji.hlava IDFF, and the Czech Television Film Centre, where she worked as a script reader.
