Focus CZ: Bridging Green Theory and Creative Practice
A highlight of our recent program at Focus CZ was the contribution of sustainability expert Zsofia Szemeredy. Her lecture, "Explore the Environmental Impact of Stories," provided a comprehensive introduction to eco-conscious storytelling. Szemeredy challenged participants to look beyond the physical production and consider how environmental narratives and values can be woven into the script's DNA from the earliest stages.
Following the lecture, the dialogue moved from the stage to the table. Szemeredy engaged in intensive group work sessions with all participants, providing hands-on mentorship and exploring how specific projects can embrace greener narratives without compromising artistic integrity.
To broaden the impact, we also co-hosted a flagship industry panel within the Finále Plzen Film Festival titled "Greenstorytelling and Sustainable Film Production." Held in collaboration with the festival’s industry program, this discussion brought together experts and filmmakers to debate the intersection of creative vision and ecological responsibility, reaching a wide audience of international industry guests.
