MIDPOINT/Norway Script Development Program starts!

MIDPOINT workshop focused on script development is being held in the premises of the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer.

Originally, FAMU Prague together with other European film schools created MIDPOINT programme for European students of filmmaking with the aim to support the creative collaboration between screenwriters, directors and producers during the film development process. In 2016, Norwegian Film School joined this MIDPOINT net of Europe film schools thanks to the support of Norway Grants.

Current script development progamme is designated for the students of both national film school with the aim to strenghten the international co-operation of young talents and the script development of screenplays. 
The three-month training programme with two residential workshops is open for the short film projects as well as feature film projects and projects of TV series.

The first workshop of the programme is now being held in Lillehammer, the second one will be organized in Prague, FAMU from May 2 – 6, 2016. Altogether, 10 projects were selected to participate in this program. Workshops include group and team work on projects, with each team lead by a professional script doctor, as well as in-​depth one to one meetings with core tutors, guest tutors, and also inspiring master classes.
 

Core tutors of the workshop come from both film schools, one group of students is led by Pavel Jech, dean of FAMU and Head of Studies of MIDPOINT.
The second group is led by Sveinbjörn Baldvinsson, Associate Professor and Head of Screenwriting department of the Norwegian Film School. 
The workshop also welcomes guest tutors. Screenwriter Nikolaj Scherfig will have a masterclass and also meet the students within individual consultations.
The second guest tutor will be producer Silje Hopland Eike, who will have a plennary called „Film and TV Financing in Norway“ and also meet the participants during individual consultations.
