Warsaw, 1918. Sonia, the black sheep of her crime family, returns home after the war to say goodbye to her dying mother. When she arrives, she discovers that she is late, her mother has already passed away. Their mother's death reveals some dark secrets- beside running a brothel, she was smuggling morphine without the permission of Gordon, a gangster who controls the drug market in Warsaw. When the sisters organize the funeral it turns out that their mother can not be buried in the Jewish cemetery- Gordon has blocked the funeral blackmailing the sisters.
