Biography

Sales agent and festival organizer. Owner of the Warsaw-based boutique world sales company New Europe Film Sales, which sells quality feature films and shorts from all over the world. The company’s catalogue includes the Icelandic film RAMS (Cannes, Prix Un Certain Regard 2015, sold to over 50 countries around the world) as well as many films selected for the Berlinale (Including 2016 Silver Bear winner UNITED STATES OF LOVE, 2016 FIPRESCI Prize winner ALOYS and Generation winners SUMMER 1993, VIOLET and MOTHER I LOVE YOU) as well as animations, such as Latvia’s Oscar candidate ROCKS IN MY POCKETS. New Europe’s short films catalogue includes 10 Oscar® shortlisters, among them the 2017 winner SING and shorts by Ruben Östlund and Magnus von Horn, among others.

Jan has been a long-term collaborator of T-Mobile New Horizons IFF and Cottbus FF and regularly acts as an expert for the European Film Academy, Creative Europe and other international bodies. He’s a graduate and guest lecturer of EAVE and co-producer of the short film LA ISLA by Dominga Sotomayor and Kasia Klimkiewicz (Canon Tiger Award at Rotterdam IFF in 2014).
