Petri Kemppinen

Petri Kemppinen is working internationally with production, financing and development, policies and training. He has over 30 years of experience in various roles in journalism, publishing and the audiovisual sector. Petri works through his own production company Good Hand Production. Previously he has been CEO of Aurora Studios and Senior Advisor at Finnish Impact Film Fund (2021-2023) and CEO of the pan-Nordic funding body Nordisk Film & TV Fond in Oslo (2013-2019). He has also served at the Finnish Film Foundation, YLE, publishing house Hard & Pet and Helsingin Sanomat newspaper.

His recent credits as producer/executive producer include Elin Grönblom’s Bloodsuckers (in post-production), Selma Vilhunen’s Four Little Adults, JP Siili’s Mushroom trip, TV Series Mobile 101 and Doktrinen. As a financier he has been part of more than 50 TV drama series and 150 films including Palme d’Or winner The Square by Ruben Östlund, film festival darlings like The Border by Ali Abbasi, The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki by Juho Kuosmanen, Woman at War by Benedikt Erlingsson, Queen of Hearts by May el-Toukhy, Worst Person in the World by Joachim Trier and renowned TV dramas like Cry Wolf, Paradise, Trapped, Occupied and The Thin Blue Line.

He has been the Finnish member of Eurimages' Board of Management 2006-2013. He is a frequent moderator at industry events, works now as an expert for career participants at training program EAVE and represents a post-production consortium Totalpost Finland. He is Co-Head of TV Beats Forum at Industry Tallinn & Baltic Event. His trustee positions include being a board member at the Swedish Film Institute (2019-2023) and European Women’s Audiovisual Network (2020-2024). He is also a member of the European Film Academy and International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
