Evgeny Ruman
EVGENY RUMAN is an acclaimed Israeli writer-director, graduate of the Tisch Film School in Tel Aviv. Born in 1979 in the former USSR, he immigrated to Israel at 10. He received the Israeli Ministry of Culture’s Excellence Award and the Stern Award for Immigrant Artists.
His films include IGOR AND THE CRANES’ JOURNEY (Toronto premiere, multiple festival awards), THE MAN IN THE WALL (Rotterdam, Israeli Academy nominations, first Israeli film on Netflix), and GOLDEN VOICES (multiple prizes including Tallinn Best Script & NETPAC Award, theatrical releases worldwide). He also adapted Meir Shalev’s bestseller ESAU, directed by Pavel Lungin and starring Harvey Keitel.
In TV, he created, wrote, and directed RUSSIAN ROULETTE (KAN11), and directed BACK ON TRACK (YES, 12 Israeli TV Academy nominations), EAST SIDE (KAN11/Netflix/ARTE, 10 Israeli TV Academy nominations), and HEART OF A KILLER (with Niv Sultan, in post-production).
