Kid, a 23 year old guy comes home from the military first time in 3 months. He is lonely and shy. He lives in the shadow of his elder brother. On the train, he is trying to find his seat. He steps in a cabin, but it’s not the right one, he apologizes a lot, and closes the door. He opens the next cabins door where he finds an elder embroidering lady in his place and a reading girl next to her. He tries to capture her attention, but the woman keeps on embroidering. Kid sits down on the seat front of the lady. He tries to put his luggage above the seat, but his mess kit fells out and hits the floor. The noise brings the passengers attention, he collects his stuff, and sits down. Kid imagines his brother, Marc in this situation. Marc asks gently the lady, she excuses, and gives his seat to him. The reading girl looks charmed at Marc. The imagination is over, Kid falls asleep. (excerpt)
